Johnston Public Schools Registration Office

The Central Registration Office processes registrations for grades 1-12 and student transfers from other schools/districts. Students will be registered only with the necessary transfer records, including immunization records, the child's birth certificate and documented proof of residency (i.e., recent utility bill indicating place of residence). Registrations are done by APPOINTMENT ONLY!

ADMISSION OF NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS

1. Application for non-resident attendance will be made to the School Committee through the Superintendent, at whose discretion the student may attend school in the interim.

2. Tuition rates for non-resident students will be based on the per student cost as determined annually by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Tuition may be charged on a pro-rated basis for any portion of the year in which the student has a non-residence status.

 

3. The School Committee will consider each application on its individual merits.  The student must have a satisfactory disciplinary and academic record. Retention will be limited to the end of the school year in which the non-residence occurs.

 

4. Under certain circumstances, the School Committee may waive payment of tuition.
